BCTI, the biblical counseling training institute is a ministry helping those who experience the pain of abuse, addiction, loneliness, are afraid, have no hope, are angry, depressed or consider suicide, and experience hurt and brokenness in this world to receive hope, and freedom from all that holds them captive.
In addition, BCTI prepares the next generation of counselors to deal with the brokenness that exists in the world and helps draw people to God with the saving gospel of Jesus Christ.
As a child growing up during World War 2 in Europe, Paul Tameling, the founder of BCT I experienced the trauma coming with war. That trauma gave him the desire to help others who are experiencing pain and abuse in their lives.

Depression is pressing something down. Pushing down emotions and not expressing them or dealing with them will lead to emotional depression. We walk with those who are depressed and help them connect with the Utlimate Healer….Jesus Christ.
If you are the victim of physical or emotional abuse by another person, that is not your fault, there is hope. Dealing with the pain of abuse can be a difficult road of healing. We have staff and trained volunteers who have abuse in their past and understand your pain and will be able to guide you in overcoming the pain of abuse.
Addiction can be a symptom of other unresolved issues. Pain not understood and dealt with can lead to acting out in ways leading to addiction. We walk beside those dealing with addiction and help them connect with God who has the authority and power to break all addictions.
Anger is a God-given motion against injustice. Even Jesus got angry. Remaining angry is not a good thing because there is where the trouble comes in. Forgiveness and peace can be experienced if Biblical lessons for anger are followed.
Suicide touches every person in every walk of life. Suicidal thoughts are often present in our deepest, darkest times. Dealing with the pain that leads to those times is key to overcoming a problem of suicide. BCTI can show you hope when you are broken- hearted.
Feeling alone is often coupled with depression and anxiety. We are never truly alone. Connecting with God and others will help defeat feelings of loneliness.
Fear is a common symptom of other issues that have not been resolved. Addressing past issues and seeking the Ultimate Healer, Jesus Christ, will help you overcome the fears you are experiencing.
